218 x 278 mm, 224 pages
Melbourne, Australia
Biannual
Editor-in-chief: Rachel Weinberg
Design: Kyra Jensen & Alex Darbyshire

Covering a mix of fashion, photography and the arts, glossy Melbourne-based biannual to Be ‘aims to consolidate the communities we scour the internet for, documented by those we adore’.

This tenth issue is themed ‘Research’, taking inspiration from the foundational and exploratory processes that precede the realisation of a creative vision, with mood boards and archives occupying a central focus. Inside, you’ll find the issue’s cover star Harrison Patrick Smith—better known as ‘The Dare’—reflect on the rich tapestry of musical influences and cultural references that shape his work. Throughout the issue, readers are encouraged to look both backwards and forwards in their search for inspiration. Features explore the South Asia Archive and the books that continually necessitate revisiting, whilst filmmaker Akinola Davies Jr., creator of ‘My Father’s Shadow’, advocates for archiving family histories. Elsewhere, digital archives inform creativity: Nina Waszak examines Molly Soda’s internet-age work and Jason Nocito digs through his vast iCloud image library spanning 2011-2025.

Plus, photography by Jamie Heath, Aria Shahrokhshahi, Bec Martin, Eric Kroll, Daniel Vaysberg, Maximiliano Dal Masetto, and more.
