Editor & art director: Steven Gregor
From longtime magazine-lover Steven Gregor (think Gym Class Magazine) comes a zine dedicated to the slasher movie, a subgenre kept alive by obsessive directors and viewers alike. As Steven, a self-described proud fag and slasher fan says: ‘Expect unabashed fandom, sure—but also machete-sharp critique.’
Unveiling its new uber-glossy and large format, this Spring 2026 issue nods to director Tom McLoughlin’s 1986 instalment of ‘Friday the 13th’, incorporating a clever red-dot design motif that readers can trace throughout the magazine. The edition opens with an editorial exploring the layered symbolism of masks in slasher lore. Inside, Lana Thorn and Alex Kaan—founding editors of the genre adjacent Phantasmag—are featured in conversation with Steven Gregor, as is Sean Abley—co-editor of Queer Horror: A Film Guide. Elsewhere, Gregor reviews 1984 cult classic Christmas slasher film ‘Silent Night, Deadly Night’ and a personal account from aficionado Josh Winning delves into the uncanny comfort of horror.
