Out now: Duf #3

It’s been a long time coming – I first mentioned it here over a year ago – but the third edition of Duf has landed and is as gorgeous as the first two were.

Sadly still only available in Dutch language, this solid 300+ page publication is a graphic dream. Conceived by Suzanne Hertogs and Petra Boers, all editorial designers need a copy on their shelves (all Dutch-speaking teenagers deserve a copy too!)

This is what I wrote of the first edition back in 2007:

Duf is a life-guide for teenagers, featuring advice on issues like sex, identity and coping with the modern world. If that sounds dull and worthy, think again. This is one of those tour de force self-initiated projects where an idea has been forced into existence. That vision and dedication shouts from every page. Hard to judge the Dutch text but the visual thinking behind it is evident throughout, a great example of editorial design, with strong pace, flow and variation.’

To which I would only add that illustration, typography and editorial visual invention ooze from every page, as I hope is clear here. And the cover features a lenticular (top). All in the cause of helping teenagers deal with puberty and other issues.

Buy your copy here, it’s only E20.
