This week we set aside magazines to meet Matt Conlon, General Manager at Shelter from the Storm, the Islington-based emergency night shelter we’re supporting with our Christmas Cracker campaign. Matt describes the work they do to help homeless people rebuild their lives.

It’s back! Our MAG-ical Christmas Cracker fundraiser returns, with a campaign across the whole of December in support of local homeless charity Shelter from the Storm. As ever, the centrepiece event is our charity raffle draw, taking place Thursday 16 December.

Created around our mantra, ‘We love magazines!’ magCulture Live, London, is back in real life and will champion great magazine work across art direction, editorial design, photography, illustration and typography. We’re excited now to introduce our speakers and share livestreaming plans and other details.

Have you been thinking about launching your own magazine? Now’s your chance to take a large step towards that ambition, with our magazine-making masterclass The Flatplan. It takes place online over the weekend 5&6 March 2022 (note this revised date), and we’re offering free places to students and people of colour.

We kept our events going online over the various lockdowns of the past eighteen months, but are buzzing with anticipation for their return in real life. The Flatplan masterclass will stay online–but magCulture Live returns to its Conway Hall home. First details for both have now been confirmed.
