New launch Epoch is a bold new magazine combining past and present in an attempt to cross-pollinate disciplines and eras. It’s editor-in-chief is Francesca Gavin, an editor, writer and curator whose name has graced multiple magazines across art, creativity and fashion. This is the first magazine she has launched.

Smart new launch Decisive Agents takes an inclusive, human view of AI, using figurative illustration to avoid the clichés of so much tech publishing. Art director Angus MacPherson developed his editorial voice at Little White Lies, and discusses his approach to the new magazine as he shares his working week.

The City is Ours is possibly the most perfect subject yet for our ‘It’s this one thing’ strand. The nicher-than-niche concern of this launch issue—the first in a series of six encouraging street-level curiosity—is the chewed-up-and-uncermoniously-spat-out chewing gum that adds chance pattern to our cities.

 

CSM graphics graduate Min Kim recently dropped off a sample copy of Playbot, part of her final year project. We were immediately drawn to its AI-driven content, and that punning title. At once serious and comedic, it’s a small but startling starter for the conversation about how humans and technology might coexist together in the future.
