Why are there not more magazines about dance? Beirut’s a Dance Magazine is a ‘global dance magazine that transcends differences, distances, and disciplines to tell the stories of people from all over the world, who are dancing their lives and giving their bodies a voice.’
This fifth issue, themed ‘Flow’, enters into dialogue with the previous issue ‘Structure’, together exploring the dynamic interplay between form and freedom. Inside, you’ll find articles that explore how flow moves across borders and spaces: from the unchoreographed dance of pilgrimage in Ethiopia and reflections on what a constantly-perfecting digital world means for the imperfection of contemporary dance, to a personal testimonial about becoming a dancer within the conservative society of Pakistan.
Pair with a copy of a Dance Mag #4 to complete the set.
