This new magazine is built around wine as a metaphor for sociability. Its acronym name stands for ‘Bring Your Own Bottle’ and represents people bringing their own stories and experiences to the table.

Written by wine lovers, many of whom aren’t trained journalists, the stories showcase great knowledge of wine, with the team and the people they meet expressing their passion in a relaxed tone that will be familiar to Noble Rot readers—two completely different magazines, but they complement each other.

Celebrating its first anniversary, this fifth edition of B.Y.O.B is themed ‘Never Enough Burgundy’, revisiting the historic French wine region explored in their debut issue—a place that ‘continues to inspire endless discussion.’ Inside, Pierre Renauld investigates trending bottles through the critical lens of French philosopher René Girard’s theories of desire; former Michelin-starred restaurant sommelier Raj Vaidya charts the evolution of organic wine production in the region, examining the various factors—from climate change to shifting attitudes towards the use of chemical treatments—that led to its popularity today; and editor Alexander Schurenkov summarises his findings from a tour of nine local estates.
