Hometown Journal #4

 210 x 280 mm, 342 pages
Berlin, Germany (English-language)
Published quarterly
Created by: Alex Schuchmann & Eric Huehn

It’s been while since we had Hometown on our shelves, but Alex and Eric have been busy pulling together an international cast of contributors that more than makes up for the hiatus. Filmmakers by day, their magazine is filmic in scope, bringing together writers, photographers and artists to reflect on the theme, ‘The way home.’

The openness of the theme allows a wonderfully broad approach to the stories, which in weaker hands might have been just too abstract. Instead, it takes good advantage of the ambiguity of the theme without losing grip.

It’s a beautiful thing, a brilliant piece of print and production (hence that pricetag!) packed with fascinating writing and beautiful, glossy imagery. In their words: ‘Your source of inspiration for your next project, your companion for long nights reading and drinking tea, a perfect present for someone who can't live without art.’
