SPD Awards 2015
Last Friday the Society of Publications Designers celebrated the best in (mainly) US editorial design with their 50th Awards dinner and ceremony in New York. Among the regular winners two highlights shine out: the magazine of the year award went to the beautiful indie football (soccer!) magazine Eight by Eight; and best media brand was tied between National Geographic and Pitchfork Media, of which a key element is the lovely Pitchfork Review. Good to see such alternative editorial projects getting recognition in what is often a very conservative awards programme.
