Each issue of story and art quarterly Zoetrope: All-Story is guest-designed by a different person. As the latest issue is published, editor Michael Ray explains ‘We seek artists of all sorts who’ll surprise our readers and make beautiful editions.’ The brand new issue is designed by Choctaw/Cherokee artist Jeffrey Gibson.

Following a successful Kickstarter campaign, as issue one lands on doormats, founder Sophie Cross  tells us about Freelancer Magazine and her plans to ‘Support freelancers in being bold and ambitious and debunk some myths around freelancing.’

Based in the north of England, Aesthetica has built up a loyal, international readership for its coverage of art and culture. As the magazine marks its 100th issue – Happy Birthday!  – we hear from Associate editor Kate Simpson about what makes the magazine unique.

After plenty of experience producing magazines for others – including British Esquire, Christies, Wallpaper* and Cloakroom –  art director David McKendrick has just launched the first issue of his own title, Paperboy. ‘Since I got Paperboy out my head, then out the door, then out into other peoples hands, I have felt a gentle buzz of optimism in the air.’

We start the new week in Montreal, where Florence Gagnon publishes her magazine lstw. She’s publisher and creative director of the 230-page bilingual queer publication that is distributed across the world.

British writer Josh Jones has been involved in an impressive range of magazines, including music mag ’Sup, Nike’s 1948 and Special Request. Alongside these, he and graphic artist James-Lee Duffy have published art ’zine Pavement Licker.
