Copenhagen Icetimes is an independent magazine devoted to contemporary writing and visual art, featuring work from Danish and Nordic creatives alongside a limited selection of international contributors. First published as a Danish-language tabloid newspaper in 2015, issue seven marks the publication’s return after a seven year hiatus—this time, published in English and debuting a new medium format and openbound design. For editor Christoffer Winther Bjerregaard it represents a moment of rebirth, as he writes in this edition’s editorial: ‘This is issue 7, but at the same time issue 1.’

Inside: artist Anna Stahn delivers a first person account of her lifelong love affair with books, from a fascination with the object itself, to prose and academic literature, and the media surrounding writers and their output; Dean Kissick muses on ancient cave paintings of animals, the accuracy of which he suggests is owed to an almost transcendental intimacy with ‘the mysterious animal world’; and Kasper Hesselbjerg shares a recipe for ‘Kawaii Organ Relation Soup’, with the ‘method’ segment unfurling into a lengthy text touching on topics spanning food-based self-care, factory farmed poultry, and neuroscience.

Plus, more visual and written contributions from Jonas Thesis, Barbara Marstrand, Martha Svihus, Absalon Kirkeby, Pernille Kaufmann, Jonas Roos and Imi Knoebel.
