The Architectural Review #1535

228 x 280 mm, 104 pages
London, UK
Monthly
Editor: Manon Mollard
Art director: Tom Carpenter

Founded in 1896, the AR has a proud tradition of challenge and criticism, scouring the globe for architecture that provokes and inspires, and relying on its immense archive and critically acclaimed writers to shape architectural discourse. Combine this with a rich history of contemporary editorial design and you have a magazine of interest beyond its natural architectural audience.

This October 2026 issue is dedicated to the annual AR Emerging Architecture Awards, revisiting the projects of previous nominees and showcasing the work of the ten practices shortlisted for this year’s prize. Featured projects include architect Kashef Chowdhury’s Raised Villages in northern Bangladesh, designed as a barrier against flooding amidst increasing climate concerns, and a ‘quietly radical’ Norwegian housing project by architecture firm Brendeland & Kristoffersen that remains overlooked by local developers and politicians.
