Another issue, another format...

Following Zweikommasieben’s 2024 decision to dissolve their biannual publishing schedule, the publication has embraced ‘new possibilities’ and a ‘freer editorial direction’.

This 31st issue marks the Zweikommasieben’s 15th anniversary in print, exploring sound, culture, and critical listening, commemorated with a deceptive format cosplaying as a cigarette packet that nods to the theme of this edition, ‘Where there is smoke, there is fire.’ Inside the tiny pages, the team explore this fiery idiom as an avenue to uncover the genesis of several artists' creative practices, and reconnect with the fanzine energy at the heart of Zweikommasieben. Readers can expect conversations between artists including Sylvie Fleury and Russell Haswell and Jan Vorisek and Embaci, bands Kleenex and Manic Pixxies, plus profiles on the likes of musicians Pronto, Tiran Willemse, and Ruhail Qaisar. Elsewhere, discover a brief analysis of our ‘temporal imagination’ and how our perception of time has become fragmented in the digital age.

On the Journal
At Work With Helena Julian: ‘The only rule is that there are no rules. Which makes sense, because if the present moment always sounds different, how could it have a fixed look? On an operational level, the process is never quite the same. Often, the content comes first. Sometimes it’s a conceptual idea, sometimes a visual one. Sometimes it all just falls into place, magically.’
