Photographer Marcus Patrick Brown has just published the fourth issue of Picnic, featuring a new design and larger format. ‘Food is delicious,’ he tells us, ‘but really, it’s the least interesting thing to talk about and photograph.’ Instead, Picnic focuses on the people behind the food—the chefs and restaurateurs.

NYT Magazine ‘Lives They Lived’
For our final post of 2022, Jeremy looks at the year’s ‘The Lives They Lived’ issue of The New York Times Magazine, and discusses the design tone adopted for it with Creative director Gail Bichler. The annual issue celebrates the lives of 12 US children killed by gun violence, as guns supercede car accidents as the main cause of death for under 18s.
